The House of Koh Lay Huan

No. 25 China Street is the private family residence of the Wilkinson Family. No 25 is located in the heart of George Town, right beside Penang's 'Little India'. This important historical house was purchased in 2006 in a sad state of disrepair. Dating back to the mid 1800's and built by a prominent Chinese Merchant, it was left to the elements and had been set on fire. It was full of rubble, and vegetation had taken over the whole site. Despite this it had a huge amount of charm and the owners 'fell in love with the spaces it offered'. 2 large inner courtyards, entrances at front and rear, and 10,000 sq feet of living space.

The first private house tour will take place on 21st April 2013 and the Wilkinson's look forward to welcoming visitors into their private home.
